Dr. Madaiah Revana
Dr. Madaiah Revana balances a successful practice as a cardiologist in Houston, Texas with his devotion to his world-class portfolio of wineries. His love for both wine and the rich tradition and culture of winemaking led him first to develop his eponymous estate Cabernet property in the St. Helena AVA of Napa Valley, then Alexana Winery in Oregon’s Dundee Hills AVA of the Willamette Valley and now Sitar Wines.
Madaiah grew up in rural India near the city of Bangalore were his family has been farming for generations. His interest in becoming a winegrower was led by a love of wine and the instinct for grape growing being part of his family's farming heritage. First introduced to fine wine by friends in the United States, he quickly became fascinated with Bordeaux’s first growths and then grand crus of Burgundy. That fascination led to the birth of Revana Family Vineyards crafting world-class Cabernet Sauvignon based in Napa Valley, California and then Alexana Estate Vineyard and Winery crafting the highly acclaimed Pinot Noirs of Oregon.
