Winemaker

Tony Rynders

Tony, a native of Wisconsin, discovered he had a future in the wine industry after a brief job with a California winery in 1989. Realizing that he wanted to be a winemaker, he enrolled in the Masters program in Viticulture and Enology at U.C Davis.

Shortly after graduating, he held winemaking positions in Oregon with Argyle Winery and in Washington with Hogue Cellars. Tony’s reputation for crafting remarkable Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grew during the ten years he was winemaker for Domaine Serene in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. In 2008, he left Domaine Serene to focus on his own wine business and also began working with Dr. Revana on the Sitar wines.

For Sitar, Tony strives to create a singular wine by sourcing Pinot Noir from a range of superb vineyards in multiple appellations of the Willamette Valley.

Sitar Pinot Noir is limited to 300 cases per year and allocated in wooden collector’s boxes which display Thomas Arvid’s original charcoal drawing. In order to secure your allocation of the Sitar Prelude as well as future offerings, join our allocation list.
